Nestled high in the beautiful woodland of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Kilnhanger offers a peaceful and inspiring setting with breathtaking panoramic views across the hills.
The house and studio have been thoughtfully and lovingly designed to create a sense of space, tranquillity and ease — the perfect place to relax, reconnect and enjoy the surrounding nature.
Kilnhanger’s main house is now divided into two homes: one a private family residence, and the other a beautiful space available to hire for overnight stays for small groups.

The accommodation sleeps up to 5 guests and includes:
Mezzanine Bedroom
Sleeps up to 3 guests in a peaceful open space overlooking the studio.
Double Bedroom
Features a luxurious super-king bed which can also be arranged as two single beds.
Additional Bedrooms for Larger Groups
For groups wishing to expand their stay, additional accommodation is available:
Twin Room – in Kilnhanger Cottage (situated near the main house) This has a Super-king bed (can be arranged as twins).
Shepherd’s Hut
A charming and private retreat with a double bed, set within the grounds.

Shepherd's Hut
Our charming Shepherd’s Hut sits peacefully within 40 acres of woodland, orchard and gardens. A tranquil haven in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with breath-taking views of the Surrey Hills.
From the hut, you can enjoy glorious sunsets, birdsong, and the calming stillness of nature.
Though tucked away for privacy, the hut is close enough to our cottage to feel secure.
It stays cool in the summer and wonderfully cosy in the winter, offering a perfect year-round retreat.
Inside, you’ll find a thoughtfully equipped kitchenette with a fridge and two electric hobs, a shower room with a heated towel rail, and a comfortable double bed with an electric radiator for extra warmth.
Guests are welcome to wander through the estate’s woodlands, gardens and pastures.
A light continental breakfast is provided, and we’re happy to accommodate dietary needs with advance notice.
Private parking is available directly beside the hut for your convenience.
Your own mini yoga retreat :
If you are looking for a mid-week yoga break, you can book to stay in the Shepherds hut on a Tuesday and Wednesday night and book in for Maddy's yoga classes on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. We can even provide yoga retreat-style meals for you in the shepherd's hut, just like your own mini yoga retreat. Please get in touch with us for more info.
